2nd Group Traning

2nd Group TNT Training Aug. 22

I was honored to be able to share the MISSION MOMENT before we started our walk/run. I was able to pass around a photo of my Dad, Mom, and the 4 grandkids to my team. I got emotional talking about how much I love my family, and how important they are to me. I also thanked our Team for doing what they are doing for LLS. They are truly heroes fighting cancer, one step at a time.

Training Blog # 2

Well, hello again! Thought I would check in and give you an update about what I have been up to. I walked a total of 10 miles during our vacation. Today I walked 2 miles in 27 minutes. I am hoping to decrease that to 26 minutes over the next week or so.

Today I focused on an affirmation towards those with cancer (and myself) with this thought/quote from the late Gilda Radner:

"The goal is to live a full, productive life even with all that ambiguity. No matter what happens, whether the cancer never flares up again or whether you die, the important thing is that the days that you have had you will have lived."

It is so true.. as a good friend used to say to me: Tomorrow is not promised. Live for today.

Training Day

Day 1: I missed the first official day of training with TNT Vero, due to our vacation.. however that did not stop me. This morning I was at the hotel gym at 6:20 am to walk the treadmill. I maintained a 13 min mile (walking) for at least 15 of the 30 minutes, so I felt pretty good about that. Today I started my visualization of the cancer miracle in my Dad. For the half, I have to maintain at least a 16 min mile. I feel confident that I will be able to do it. Looking forward to keeping in touch with all of you via this blog. These boots are made for walkin...

Well friends it is time for me to get my big girls panties on and start training!! I am thrilled that I can do this in honor of my Dad and everyone out there who has battled cancer.

I truly do this as a dedication to my Dad, Tom Becker on behalf of our entire family. My Dad is a strong person and has remained quite calm throughout the years since his diagnosis. His strength, along with my Mom's, is what has inspired me to do this Half Marathon in January.

Let go already!

About a month ago, my 5 yr old lost her first tooth. It came out at school, no muss no fuss. And more importantly no drama!

Fast forward to now.. loose tooth #2 has been hanging on by a thread (literally) for over a week now. Whenever you mention the tooth to Bela she will wiggle it, but she is very relunctant to let us help her along.. if you get my drift.

My hubby is a worried wreck, the new tooth is coming in crooked.. no room at the inn so to speak.

Tooth, let go already!
